As natural as possible
We strive to be 100% naturally derived with all our formulations as we believe natural is best, however it is not always possible to be 100% natural. We will only compromise on 100% natural if the overall formulation will perform more effectively, be more stable or products which contain water where they require a preservative. We will never compromise on the products quality, effectiveness and most importantly we will always be transparent with you, on each of our product pages we include the percentage natural of each product.
Not tested on animals
My Expert Midwife do not test our products or ingredients on animals. We believe that animal testing is not acceptable. We recognise that customer safety is of vital importance, but this can be assured without the need to test on animals. We uphold very strict guidelines through our regularly audited manufacturing partners that uphold our no animal testing policy. We never have and never will commission any other organisation to carry out animal tests on finished products or ingredients individually.
Suitable for vegetarians
All our products are suitable for vegetarians The majority of our products are vegan friendly, however there are some products in which we use beeswax and medical grade lanolin. We use lanolin as this is the closest ingredient to the sebum in the human skin and we find it to be the most effective. Beeswax is a wonderful ingredient that helps lock in skin hydration and by adding it to our product we are supporting bees and beekeepers all over the world at a time when the bee population is in decline.
The following products are suitable for vegans:
Pregnancy:
- Sick of it! Toolkit
- Keep Your Cool
- Peri Prep Your Bits
Labour:
- Labour Duo
Birth Recovery:
- Spritz for Bits
- Soak for Bits
The following products are not suitable for vegans:
- No Harm Bum Balm
- No Harm Nipple Balm
- Fantastic Skin Elastic
No palm oil
We don’t use palm oil or any palm derived ingredients in any of our products. Palm oil has been and continues to be a major cause of deforestation and destroys the habitat of endangered species like the Orangutan. If you do use products which contain Palm Oil you should make sure that they are RSPO certified which can help to minimise the negative impact of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities in palm oil producing regions.
Recyclable
Our mission is to source responsibly and encourage our customers to recycle. We choose to use plastic rather than glass to package as many products as possible as this reduces the overall amount of packaging needed to get the product safely from us to you and we only use retail cartons for products when it is absolutely necessary to make sure they are properly protected. All of our plastic packaging and boxes are recyclable, our pumps are not currently recyclable so please remove them before recycling the bottle.
Made in the UK
We are proud to support British business and reduce the carbon footprint of our products by manufacturing all our products in the UK.
