This webinar has been developed by our expert midwives to give you a greater understanding of what happens before, during and after a planned c-section, so you know what to expect and how you can personalise your birth experience and plan for your recovery.

Whilst most of this webinar is laying the foundation for understanding how your body and breasts will produce breastmilk, it would be helpful to you if you had a teddy or doll so you can follow the practical demonstration of feeding positions.

Can I start perineal massage earlier/later than 35 weeks?

The research available is based on women who had undertaken perineal massage from 35 weeks of pregnancy, so there isn’t data on the effects of starting it sooner. If you want to start it sooner it would not be harmful, but equally it may not provide you with any extra benefits.
