The spritz uses aromatherapy to stimulate smell receptors in the nose, which then send messages through the nervous system to the limbic system — the part of the brain that controls emotions. Aromatherapy is most effective when applied to your pulse points (wrists & temples) as this is where the blood flow is closest to your skin.

Midwife developed Sick Of It! Spritz is a handy fragrant and gentle blend of peppermint, lemon and grapefruit essential oils whose properties are known to help those feelings of morning sickness and nausea. This spray can help you manage some of the symptoms of nausea experienced in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy and throughout your pregnancy to make your daily life a little easier.
Unfortunately, there is no quick cure for sickness and nausea in pregnancy, but you can do things do help reduce those feelings. The Sick Of It! Spritz contain peppermint, lemon and grapefruit whose properties are known to help feelings of sickness and can be used as part of a ‘toolkit’ of things to help you manage those feelings, alongside what and when you eat, and other suggestions that are discussed in more detail in our blog below.
As nausea is very individual to each woman and each pregnancy, it may take a while to discover which management methods work best for you. Our midwives have also developed the Sick Of It! Rollerball and Soothing Ginger Melts to use as part of your pregnancy nausea toolkit.
